NIC has been invited to deliver lecture in 6th ADB International Conference on eGP Asian Development Bank (ADB) held its 6th Conference of the Asia Pacific Public Electronic Procurement Network (Virtual e-Government Procurement Conference 2020) from 3rd to 5th November 2020. Focus of this year’s conference was on rapid digitalization of public procurement induced by global pandemic.Seeing the phenomenal successful implementation of Government eProcurement System of NIC(GePNIC) over the years, ADB invited officers from National Informatics Centre, Sh K Srinivasa Raghavan , DDG & SIO(Tamil Nadu) and Ms Usha Saxena, STD & HoD(eProcurement Division, NIC HQs) to share progress made by NIC eGP , GePNIC and use of Technology tools and Artificial Intelligence with wider network of eGP professionals. The session was followed by Q and A. It was well appreciated by one and all. This was a 3 days Conference held Online for the first time keeping in view of the ongoing Pandemic. Around 15-20 eminent lead Procurement Analyst from various countries spoke on various topics over the three-day conference including renowned speakers from ADB, World Bank, Indo-American Development Bank, European Bank and Other major countries including India. Over 350 delegates from Asia and Pacific, Public procurement agencies practitioners from ADB member countries participated across 20 time zones.NIC eProcurement team officials and those from various states who play the role of eProcurement State Coordinators participated online in the 3 day long Conference. The conference provided an opportunity to learn on progress made by other countries, how they handle the security aspects, managing procurement during COVID time, handling PPP projects through eGovernment Procurement etc.
