Some projects have the potential to revolutionize how governance is done and GePNIC has been one such initiative. It has changed the way how Government procurement is undertaken and has brought in a lot of transparency and trust in the system. It has been a winwin project which has not only benefited the Departments but the vendors and businesses also. While, the Government has benefitted from getting competitive prices, vendors feel more assured that procurement is transparent and undue benefit is avoided. As far as Chandigarh is concerned, the platform has been the mainstay for our procurement needs and Chandigarh is among the best performing States and UTs in the country. Through policy intervention it was ensured that departments migrate to the system and adoption was challenging but successful. More so, the eAuction provision in the system has enabled the Administration to get the best value from the proposition as the system allow wider participation. Excise Department Chandigarh Administration has con ucted auction of 98 liquor vends of Chandigarh. There was an increase of 34% in revenue collection from last auction, which was held manually. Chandigarh UT was first in country to conduct auction of liquor shops with GePNIC.
